The construction of Hagerstown’s new state of the art ballpark was announced in 2021, and broke ground soon after in 2022. As a part of a revitalization project, Hagerstown’s very own downtown ballpark will become a hub for the community as it will host over sixty Atlantic League Professional Baseball games every year. The stadium will not only play host to baseball games, but will also serve as a venue for concerts, community events, and much more throughout the year.
Meritus Park opened its doors with a grand opening celebration on May 17th, 2024, when the Flying Boxcars hosted the Staten Island FerryHawks. The park can host up to 4,000 fans for baseball games, and even more for non sporting events including concerts. The multi-sport facility also can host soccer, lacrosse, football and more, and has already hosted several high school sporting events.
