Meritus Park Named 2026 Ballpark of the Year

Today, the Atlantic League announced post-season administrative awards for the 2026 season. For the third consecutive season, Meritus Park was named Atlantic League Ballpark of the Year. Postseason awards are voted on by all league members at the conclusion of the season.

The Flying Boxcars continue to strive to better fan experience each year at Meritus Park. This season, the Flying Boxcars introduced a brand-new sensory room. The addition is the latest step in the Flying Boxcars’ commitment to creating a more welcoming and inclusive experience for every fan.

The initiative would not have been possible without the incredible support and partnership of Landon’s Project, along with the Arc of Washington County, Morgan-Keller, Wade Architecture, and the many contractors and community partners who helped bring the vision to life.

The Flying Boxcars also upgraded the Michelob Ultra Power Alley Pub – an outfield bar area and option for group outings. New additions include lawn chair seating, and yard games available to all fans.

Offseason events included a high-profile collegiate game featuring West Virginia University and Penn State, which drew a Meritus Park record crowd for baseball. WVU will return to Meritus Park in May 2027, when they take on the University of Virginia.
